Vickie’s Originals was created in 2003 by a designer dedicated to create products for the eco – conscious in all of us.

Vickie’s Originals creates a forever changing selection of one-off refurbished upcycled retro furniture pieces to Satchels that SHOUT created by the Recycling of discarded advertising billboards, her latest designs are Laptop satchels, DJ Record satchels, Nappy satchels, Out & About satchels, Wine carriers, Beanbags, Barbeque aprons. By ‘Upcycling’, we are re-using, re-ducing and re-cycling.

Promoting sustainable living, Vickie’s ethos is to move away from being such a throw-away society. It’s great to be able to work in a resourceful manner.

THE PROCESS in creating products using discarded advertising billboards. First we find discarded advertising billboards. Next we cut them into manageable sized pieces; this is heavy-dirty work…… After we have washed and groomed these pieces they are then cut by the designer into funky, unique one off original pieces ready to become a bag, satchel. The collated pieces are now sent to a sewing contractor specializing in sewing heavy-duty materials. This step of the process takes place in Nelson, New Zealand .  The product is sent back to us for quality control. We photograph it (because every one is different), we package it and finally we send it out into the world.

Upcycled advertising billboards are used to create: “FUN”ctional ART that is eco friendly, “Fashionable One off Designs”, that are durable, tough, sturdy, water resistant, versatile.
